Anthony Smeglin, MD, FCCP, is the President of WMA and a pulmonology and critical care specialist.

He specialized in pulmonology and critical care because these disciplines allow him to apply scientific knowledge to benefit patients in a broad range of outpatient and inpatient settings, which involve a multi-disciplinary approach to care. He is also the Medical Director of the Respiratory Care Department at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Dr. Smeglin and his family moved to the northern Berkshires for its high quality of life. He chose Williamstown Medical Associates specifically because of the quality of the physicians and staff working there.

He is on the board of Ecu-Health Care and has served on multiple health care related boards and committees in the region. He is also a member of several professional societies including the American Thoracic Society and the Massachusetts and Berkshire District Medical Societies. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.

“To me,” says Dr. Smeglin, “wellness is the realization of good health, achieved through physical and mental well-being in balance with one’s personal values.”

When not working, Dr. Smeglin enjoys spending time with family, and taking advantage of the natural resources in our area by fishing, especially for large and smallmouth bass.
